Prof. Dr. Salim Şentürk is one of Turkey’s leading neurosurgeons and academicians, specializing in spinal surgery, particularly endoscopic spine surgery.

Life and Education

• Born: 1982, Trabzon.

• Medical School: Karadeniz Technical University, Faculty of Medicine (2005).

• Residency: Atatürk Training and Research Hospital, Neurosurgery (2007–2013).

• International Training: Completed the 4-year training program of the European Association of Neurosurgical Societies (EANS).

Professional Career

• 2013–2014: Mandatory service at Çorum Training and Research Hospital.

• 2014–2018: Neurosurgeon at Koç University Hospital.

• 2018–2019: Training and observership programs at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) Spine Center and Rhode Island Hospital in the USA.

• 2019–2024: Neurosurgeon and spine surgeon at Memorial Healthcare Group.

• From September 2024: Seeing patients in his private clinic.

• September 2025: Appointed as a Professor at Üsküdar University, Faculty of Medicine.

• As of September 2025: Working at Clinic Haus.

Academic Contributions

• Served as the editor of the first book on endoscopic spine surgery written in Turkey, preparing it in both Turkish and English with contributions from national and international surgeons.

• Acted as the editor for a 6-volume question book series for the TND Board and EBNC exams (Neuroanatomy, Neuro-oncology, Neurovascular, Spinal, Pediatric, Functional).

• Edited the book Antimicrobial Prophylaxis in Brain and Spine Surgery.

• Has 52 scientific articles published in international peer-reviewed journals and 15 in national journals.

• Authored 17 book chapters and prepared a surgical training set consisting of 29 videos (cervical, thoracic, lumbar spine pathologies).

• Has delivered over 100 oral presentations and abstracts at national and international congresses.

Scientific and Clinical Work

• Has developed innovative surgical techniques in endoscopic spine surgery.

• Has organized and performed live surgery training sessions at national and international levels.

• Holds two registered utility models in the field of spine surgery and is actively involved in product development projects.
