Dr. Taha Anbara is an Advanced General and Laparoscopic Surgeon with over 15 years of extensive clinical and academic experience, with a strong focus on bariatric and minimally invasive surgery. He is well known for his leadership roles in surgical departments and hospital management, and is committed to enhancing surgical outcomes, patient safety, and post-operative care through innovation, research, and evidence-based medical practices.
His Education;
Dr. Taha Anbara completed his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree at the National University of Iran between 1997 and 2003.
He later completed his General Surgery Residency at the University of Tehran from 2012 to 2016.
In addition to his formal education, Dr. Anbara has participated in numerous international certification programs and advanced fellowships, including:
Yale School of Medicine – Anatomy of the Chest, Neck, Abdomen & Pelvis (2024),
Harvard Medical School – Obesity Medicine: The Blackburn Course (2020),
Shanghai Pudong Hospital – Bariatric Surgery Masterclass (2017).
He has also received advanced training in obesity and metabolic surgery from the University of Copenhagen, Johns Hopkins University, and Emory University.

Dr. Taha Anbara currently serves as a Senior Surgeon at BHT Clinic in Istanbul, Türkiye (2024 – Present).
He is also the Founder and Consultant Surgeon at Araz Life Clinics in Istanbul, Türkiye (2023 – Present).
In addition, he holds the position of Head of Hospital and Head of the Surgery Department at Arman International Hospital in Tehran, Iran (2022 – Present).
Previously, Dr. Anbara held several leadership roles, including:
Head of Surgery Department at Tandis Hospital, Tehran, Iran (2022 – 2024),
Head of Laparoscopic Surgery Department at Erfan Niayesh Hospital, Tehran, Iran (2019 – 2022),

Dr. Anbara is an active member of the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity (IFSO) and serves as a scientific reviewer for MDPI journals, including Clinical Medicine and Obesity Science & Practice. He has contributed to the medical literature with multiple scientific publications in the field of bariatric surgery and obesity medicine.
